Introduction

What is Google Tag Manager? Google Tag Manager is a tag management system (TMS) that allows you to quickly and easily update measurement codes and related code fragments collectively known as tags on your website or mobile app. Once the small segment of Tag Manager code has been added to your project, you can safely and easily deploy analytics and measurement tag configurations from a web-based user interface.

This module allows you to connect your PrestaShop store to the Google Tag Manager (GTM). When connected, this module sends eCommerce-specified events to the Google Tag Manager like add-to-cart, view product, checkout steps, etc...

Via this module, you can use eCommerce data aggregated by GTM in other external services like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, etc...

Using this module you can collect analytics data to generate reports of monetization on your site using Google Analytics

Monetization - Google Analytics 4

This module allows sending data in two formats:

  • Universal Analytics (UA). This is the old version of Google Analytics based on page views. This version will be stopped on 1 July 2023.

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Is the new version of Google Analytics based on events. It's more flexible, it makes it easier to collect the data without page reloading.

We recommend using the GA4 format as Universal Analytics will be deprecated.
