To test if everything is working fine, you can use built-in Google Tag Assistant. To open this tool, please login into your Google Tag Manager account and then in the top right corner of the page click Preview button.
Google Tag Assistant will be opened in a new browser tab. Now you need to enter your site URL (if this field is empty) and click "Connect" button.
Your site will be opened in the new browser tab and you will see the Tag Manager overlay as per the screenshot below
Now the Tag Assistant is connected to your site - you can do some actions on your site (open product page, open category page, add the product to cart, remove the product from the cart, start a checkout process) and check which tags fired in the Google Tag Assistant.
For example, if you open a product page on your site you should see the view_item event fired, and on the Tags tab, you should see the "GA4 - event - view_item" tag is fired.
Also, you can find all the data sent from your site to the GTM using the Variables and DataLayer tabs.
You can see the complete list of actions and corresponding events in .
